The short version

What we handle and why

DataWhyWhere and how long
Display name you typeShown to other players in your roomSaved on your device so you don't retype it. Held by the room server while you are in a room.
Sound on/off settingRemembers your choiceOn your device only
Game moves and field snapshotsRunning the online matchPassed through the room server to the other players; the latest snapshot is kept in memory until the round ends
Chat messagesRoom chatSent to everyone in the room. The room keeps its last 20 lines so newcomers can catch up, and deletes them when the room empties.
IP address and basic request data (time, URL, browser type)Delivering the site, preventing abuse, fixing errorsProcessed by our host, Cloudflare, and kept in short-lived operational logs

Chat is filtered for offensive words and rate-limited, and you can mute any player in your room. We don't read, sell or share chat or names, and we don't use them for advertising.

Service providers

The game server and website run on Cloudflare Workers and Durable Objects. Cloudflare processes connection data on our behalf to deliver and protect the service. Fonts are bundled with the game, so no font service is contacted.

Children

Rubble Rumble is not directed at children under 13. Online rooms include chat with other players, so younger children should play Practice mode or play with an adult.
